Inquiry learning encourages children to investigate. This allows them to become actively involved in their own learning, to learn to transfer skills and knowledge to new situations and to develop deeper understandings.

There are different ways to investigate the world. We aim to give children a ‘tool kit’ of methods to investigate questions and problems.

The skills of inquiry – questioning, investigating, selecting resources, recording data, analysing patterns, forming differing opinions and finally ‘What now?’ -  are taught to children from new entrants until Year 6 at Crofton Downs Primary School.
